Was also excited recently to find some more (or better versions) of some of the original production art (By Tony Masters and Ron Miller), including a couple of pieces I had not seen before.

@RedstarAnims - Yes, I have seen these before but My problem with the designs is they always look like they are 2 seaters - while the story calls for the vehicles to carry more than just a couple of people. Personally I have always preferred production designer Ron Cobb's interior design work (As on Alien) to his vehicle designs.
This show reel is great and a project I believe should have been done long ago by the studio. It would round the film off in scope and depth. You need to promote this idea further. Have you thought about social website promoting such as Facebook? Get fan interest up to maybe persuade the film company into what your doing?
